Countdown to the completion of the new PFI Hospital begins

In less than two years time the new £148m Private Finance Initiative Hospital at Broomfield will be finished and handed over to the NHS Trust.  The hospital will then be equipped before being occupied by patients in October 2010.

Ruth May, chief executive of mid Essex Hospitals, said:” I am delighted that the building work is going to plan and that we will have our new hospital in less than two years.  This will bring state of the art medical facilities to mid Essex which will benefit both our staff and patients.”

The new hospital is being built by the Trust’s private sector partner Bouygues UK.
