Broomfield’s A&E department gets a makeover
Broomfield Hospital’s A&E department is having a makeover as part of an ongoing programme to improve the patient experience.
Work has started to make improvements to the Trust’s A&E department. These include providing an improved reception counter service to provide privacy for patients when talking to staff and extra assessment rooms, designed to reduce waiting times within the department.
John Swiatczak, general manager for critical care at Mid Essex Hospitals, said: “Following feedback from A&E patients in a recent survey we wanted to ensure we improved our A&E department to meet their needs. One element was to refurbishment the department which will make improvements to a number of areas. We hope there will only be minor disruption during the refurbishment work and ask patients to bear with us during this time as this work is being done whilst we continue to run a very busy department.”
The work is being carried out in three phases and should be complete by February 2009.
