Hospital Trust non executive director is reappointed

Brian Goodwin has been reappointed by the Health and Social Care Appointments Commission to serve on the Board of Mid Essex hospitals as a non executive director for a further four year period from 1 February 2009 to 31 January 2013.

 

Brian, who lives in Chelmsford, is a qualified mechanical engineer and worked for 40 years in the oil industry.  Brian has wide experience in business, and commercial and marketing issues.  He has also worked at national level to improve the position of underrepresented people.

 

Mike Malone-Lee, Trust chairman, said: ”I am delighted that Brian will serve a second four year term on the Trust Board.  Brian has a wealth of business experience that is very beneficial to the Trust, especially as we move to becoming a Foundation Trust next year.”

 

Brian will receive an annual remuneration of £6005. This appointment has been made in accordance with the OCPA Code of Practice.

 

All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.  However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendation, there is a requirement for appointees political activity (if any declared) to be made public.  Brian has no declared political activities.

 

Mid Essex hospital services NHS Trust serves a population of 360,000 and provides acute hospital based care to people who live in and around the towns of Chelmsford, Braintree, Maldon and Witham.
