Ruth May is the new CEO at mid Essex hospitals
Ruth May was appointed as the new permanent chief executive of mid Essex hospitals on Tuesday 18 December, following a competitive interview process.
Ruth said:” It is a privilege to be appointed as the Trust’s new chief executive. This is a very exciting time for the Trust, especially with the construction of the new hospital underway and the journey towards becoming a Foundation Trust about to begin. I am looking forward to continuing to work with all colleagues to build on the strengths of the organisation and take it forward over the coming years."
Ruth has been the interim chief executive of mid Essex hospitals since September and replaced Andrew Pike who moved on to become the chief executive of South East Essex Primary Care Trust.
David Cheesman, formerly the Trust’s director of operations has become the Foundation Trust director and Margaret Blackett is the interim director of operations.
