Steven Myint - non executive director

New non executive director joins Hospital Trust

 

Professor Steven Myint has been appointed by the Appointments Commission to serve on the Board of Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust as a non executive director for a period of four years from 1 May 2008.

 

Professor Myint, who lives in Great Dunmow, is currently the Chief Medical Officer and a member of the senior team at the life sciences company, BTG plc.  His career has spanned the NHS, academia and industry, covering teaching, research and management.

 

Mike Malone-Lee, Trust Chairman, said:” I am delighted that Steven has joined the Trust Board.  I am sure that he will bring with him a wealth of experience that will prove very beneficial to the organisation, especially as we move towards becoming a Foundation Trust.”

 

Professor Myint will receive an annual remuneration of £5875. This appointment has been made in accordance with the OCPA Code of Practice.

 

All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.  However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendation, there is a requirement for appointees political activity (if any declared) to be made public.  Professor Myint has no declared political activities and holds no other ministerial appointments.

 

Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust serves a population of 360,000 provides acute hospital based care to people who live in and around the towns of Chelmsford, Braintree, Maldon and Witham.
