Hospitals Intensive Care appeal benefits from two donations
The appeal to raise £100,000 to buy specialist monitors for Broomfield Hospital’s intensive care unit has been boosted following two donations.
The Women’s Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) presented a cheque fro £30,000 from money raised at their hospital tea bar and a cheque fro £450 was presented by the family of the late Ivy Curry.
Kevin Kiff, ICU consultant, said:” I would like to thank the WRVS and the family of the late Mrs Curry for their generous donations. We want to buy 10 data management systems that will continually monitor critically ill patients on the ICU. These monitors really will make a difference to the care we can provide to patients on the ICU.
“As part of our fundraising a team from the hospital will soon be embarking on a sponsored bike ride from 1500 to John O Graotes and back again to raise money for the appeal. If anyone is interested in sponsoring us please contact Yvonne Carter in the charity office on (01245) 514559.”
