Hospital staff rewarded at awards ceremony
The hard work and dedication of staff from Mid Essex Hospitals was recognised recently at an annual awards ceremony.
The awards, which were open to all staff throughout the Trust, were presented to winners who were selected from four finalists in eight different categories - ranging from nurse to health care assistant and team of the year. All of the 89 nominations came from colleagues within the Trust and the winners were chosen by a judging panel comprising of Ruth May (chief executive), Brian Goodwin (non executive director) and Cllr Tom Willis (Mayor of Chelmsford).
Ruth May, chief executive of mid Essex Hospitals, said: “This was a great event. It was lovely to be able to recognise the contribution our staff have made to the Trust. Even though we are celebrating the work of these members of staff we mustn’t forget the contribution that everyone makes to providing excellent patient care.”
Each of the eight winners received a certificate and £200 in vouchers, provided from external sponsorship from Anglia Ruskin University; Bouygues UK; Medirest; Mott MacDonald; Pretty’s solicitors; Glaxo-SmithKline and Allstaff recruitment.
Ruth adds:” I would like to thank the Mayor of Chelmsford for helping to make this event extra special and also to all of the sponsors who generously donated the prize money.”
