New members needed for the Chelmsford cancer services user group
If you, or a member of your family, have been affected by cancer, or you are interested in how cancer services are run and developed locally, then you could be just the person we need.
The Chelmsford cancer services user group, whose members includes patients, carers and healthcare professionals are looking for new members who are prepared to come and tell them what patients expect from their local services and how these should be developed in the future.
Matt Riddleston, Macmillan lead cancer nurse at mid Essex Hospitals, said:” It is important that the views of our cancer patients and their families are used to help develop our cancer services. That’s why we have established the cancer user group. We want to hear the views of as many people as possible and are currently looking for more people to join the group.”
There will be an open day on Saturday 11th October 2008 in the Medical Academic Unit at Broomfield Hospital from 10am to 2pm to find out more about the group. A light lunch will be provided and car parking is free.
Matt adds;” The open day is an opportunity to hear about the role of the Chelmsford Cancer Services User Group, and how it can influence the development of cancer services locally, regionally and nationally. Ruth May, the chief executive of mid Essex Hospitals will also be there.”
