Gwyneth Wilson, new Director of Nursing at Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust

Mid Essex Hospitals and Anglia Ruskin University jointly appoint new nursing director

Gwyneth Wilson, currently deputy chief executive and chief nurse at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in King’s Lynn, has been appointed as the new director of nursing at mid Essex hospitals, that runs Broomfield and St John’s. This is a joint appointment with Anglia Ruskin University as a clinical academic fellow. 

 

Professor David Humber, pro vice chancellor and executive dean at Anglia Ruskin , said:” The decision to make a joint appointment of a director of nursing is an exciting development in the long standing partnership  between Anglia Ruskin University and the Mid Essex Hospitals.  This I believe is a unique joint venture and the appointment of Gwyneth will not only further strengthen the  co-operation between us but, with her drive and enthusiasm, will ensure that we work together and develop a cohesive interprofessional approach to education and training to improve the patient experience. As a senior clinical fellow in the faculty of health and social care she will  bring her extensive experience and knowledge and work closely with key academic staff on issues of direct importance to the Trust.”

 

Gwyneth, who is a registered midwife and nurse, said: “I am absolutely delighted with my appointment.  I am passionate about nursing and midwifery and am really looking forward to becoming part of the team at Mid Essex.”

Mike Adams, non executive direct or of mid Essex Hospitals and chair of the governance committee, said:” We interviewed three highly capable candidates and found Gwyneth to be outstanding. I am delighted that I will be working with her to take forward the nursing agenda.”

 

Gwyneth takes up her new post on 3 November 2008.
