NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE RELISHES NEW CHALLENGE
Graham Ramsay has today been offered and accepted the role as the new Chief Executive of Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust.
Graham has been Medical Director and Deputy Chief Executive at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust since May 2006. Within his portfolio, he is also Director of Patient Safety and Director of Infection Prevention and Control.
Prior to this he was Executive Director to a group of three hospitals in South Netherlands. Graham holds M.B Ch.B. (Bachelor of Surgery) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Graham says he is excited by the challenge of his new role.
“I am delighted to have been asked to lead Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust at this hugely important time”.
“I am looking forward immensely to taking on this role, and the opening of the brand new PFI hospital next year. Especially important too will be gaining foundation trust status in the near future.
In particular, I will build on the positive work and good reputation the Trust has enjoyed under Ruth May and I look forward to working closely with all staff over the coming months. I would also like to extend my congratulations to Ruth and wish her well in her new role’’.
In confirming the appointment, Interim Chairman Mike Adams said “I am very pleased Graham has agreed to accept the role as our new Chief Executive.
His leadership in the NHS, both at corporate and clinical level will be invaluable to the Trust, and I look forward to working closely with Graham to ensure the ambitions of the Trust are fully realised.
Sir Neil McKay, Chief Executive for NHS East of England said, “This is an excellent appointment for Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust. Graham will bring great experience and leadership to the Trust as they continue to build on the strong reputation that has been achieved.”
