Registered Nurses needed to join the Hospital’s staff bank
Mid Essex Hospitals, that run Broomfield and St John’s hospital in Chelmsford will be holding an open day on Saturday 7 November to recruit additional registered nurses to its staff bank.
The Trust would like to hear from all band five registered nurses who have at least six months experience in an acute hospital environment, including theatres, renal, paediatric, A&E, plastics and burns.
Amanda Lyes, director of HR at Mid Essex Hospitals, said:” We have established an internal staff bank so we can avoid the need to use expensive agency staff to fill additional shift and cover for staff absences. We are keen to ensure we have as many registered nurses as possible on our staff bank, which is why we are holding this open day.”
At the open day prospective bank staff can go through the whole recruitment process there and then. There will be short presentations at regular intervals throughout the day and then a brief interview / drug calculation test for the candidates. Refreshments will be provided. Hospital staff will be on hand to offer advice and guidance on working at the Trust.
Amanda adds “This is an exciting time to join our workforce as we will be opening our £148m Private Finance Initiative (PFI) hospital wing next year, so we need to ensure we have staff available to help us during the transition process when some of our services move into the new facilities.”
The open day will take place from 9am until 4pm in the Medical Academic Unit at Broomfield Hospital.
