Cardiac patients benefit from support group’s donation
A support group have helped the cardiac rehabilitation team at Broomfield Hospital with their patient education programme.
The Chelmsford and District Cardiac Support Group raised money to buy two new high-tech laptops and projectors to help the team when they deliver patient training sessions as part of their cardiac rehabilitation programme.
Debbie Whitfield, lead nurse for cardiac rehabilitation, explained: “We run patient training sessions several times a week, and this new equipment will make it much easier for us to share information with our cardiac patients. The cardiac support group know how vital education is for the rehabilitation of patients with a heart condition so we are extremely grateful to them for helping us improve our training facilities in this way.”
The cardiac support group was established to offer support to cardiac patients and their families. Their members have also been instrumental in funding new equipment for the hospital's cardiac department.
