Your chance to find out more about services at Mid Essex Hospitals

Broomfield Hospital is throwing open its doors for people to come and find out more about some of the particular services it offers.

The first event is concentrating on diabetes and is open to anyone who has diabetes, is a carer for a diabetic patient or has an interest in the condition.

Graham Ramsay, Chief Executive of Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, said:” We hope that these events will appeal to a wide range of people, from those affected by the condition to carers and relatives. There will be talks from medical professionals about the condition and how to access our services. It will be a great opportunity for people to find out more about some of the services we provide here at the Trust and for them to share their views.”

The diabetes event will be led by Jane Young, lead diabetes specialist nurse, and will take place in the Medical Academic Unit at Broomfield Hospital on Tuesday 9 February from 6.00 to 7.30 pm, refreshments will be provided.  Places are strictly on a first come, first served basis, so if you are interested in attending or require further information please contact Rebecca Pascoe on (01245) 516595 or via e-mail: rebecca.pascoe@meht.nhs.uk

Two other events are already planned:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) on Thursday 11 March 2010; and

  • Heart Failure on Wednesday 21 April from 6.00 to 7.30 pm
