Caring couple show their appreciation
When Braintree couple, Helen and Jason Ross contemplated their wedding celebrations, they also remembered the neo natal unit at St. John’s Hospital with a donation of nearly £840.00.
Helen said: “We had a wonderful wedding day and we wanted to share it with the unit who helped our beautiful daughter, Charlie, when she needed it most. It is thanks to the care and treatment Charlie received that we asked our guests to make a donation rather than giving gifts”.
Christine Abbott, junior sister, welcomed the Ross family to unit and said: “This generous donation will contribute towards extra equipment that we need particularly as the unit expands into brand new facilities at Broomfield Hospital”. Christine explained: “Equipment like the SiPAP monitor helps premature babies with their breathing and it’s staggering to think it costs around the same as small family car! I would like to thank Helen and Jason, and Charlie for letting us share in their celebrations. Your support of the work we do is greatly appreciated, and even more importantly will help us to treat many more special care babies born in Essex”.
