Phlebotomy Service trials appointment booking
Patients can now make appointments for their blood tests at Broomfield and St John’s hospitals in Chelmsford. This is part of a trial that will run from Thursday 1st July to help those patients who do not find it convenient to use the walk-in service.
During the trial period the appointment service will continue working alongside the existing Walk-in service.
Lesley Gamon, Phlebotomy Manager at Mid Essex Hospitals, said:
”We have decided to trial an appointment system for both outpatient and GP requested blood tests. We hope that this will reduce our waiting times and make it easier for patients by allowing them to choose a time that is both convenient and suitable to them.
It will also help us to see how well the system works, as we may be looking to run our phlebotomy clinic for GP requests on an appointment only basis when we move into the New PFI hospital later this year.”
Blood test appointments will be available at :
Broomfield Hospital between the hours of 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and at St Johns Hospital between the hours of 8am to 3.45pm
To arrange an appointment patients can call 01245 516963 or visit the pathology department reception at Broomfield between the hours of 9am-1pm Monday to Friday from Monday 28th June
