Open day for patients at Broomfield Hospital
Broomfield Hospital’s stoma care department is hosting an open day for stoma patients to find our more about the latest products, appliances and clothing available to them.
The day, which takes place on Friday 21 May between 10am and 2pm in the Medical academic Unit, at Broomfield Hospital, is being run by the Trust’s stoma care nurses, supported by the Mid Essex Stoma Support Group. It is open to patients and their family/guests.
Nicki Saunders and Kerry Sandlin, stoma care nurse at Broomfield hospital, said:” We try to hold these open days every two years as we want to give stoma patients the chance to talk with us in an informal setting and to also see for themselves the latest appliances, services, products and clothing available to them. Whilst we have invited all of our current patients we are also keen to reach those stoma patients who might have moved into the area, or those people who have lost in touch with a stoma care nurse.”
During the day specialist manufacturers will be on hand to show people their products. Light refreshments will also be served.
