New Contracts Keep Phlebotomy Services Local
Following the successful completion of contracts, Mid Essex Hospital Services is pleased to announce the opening of two new centres for phlebotomy services in the centre of Chelmsford, in addition to the service already located at Broomfield Hospital.
Chelmsford Medical Centre, located opposite the Chelmsford & Essex Centre on London Road, is the first centre to open its doors to patients on Monday 22nd November. The unit will provide a phlebotomy service on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week, from 8.00am to 12.45pm.
Christchurch Reform Church, located at 164 New London Road, opens the following Monday, 29th November, and provides a phlebotomy service on Monday, Tuesday and Friday of each week, from 7.00am to 3.45pm.
However, from Monday, 13th December, this centre will be open five days a week, Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 3.45pm.
THESE APPOINTMENTS, AT EITHER CENTRE, ARE STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT LINE BOOKING ONLY.

Phlebotomy services (the collecting of blood samples), currently located at the St John’s Hospital site in Chelmsford, will move out when the hospital finally closes its doors on Friday 19th November.
Richard Green, General Manager, said: “Plans for the move have been in progress for some time, and the Trust is delighted that we have managed to secure convenient town centre locations for our patients to visit.
‘The locations were important to us as we wanted to avoid any unnecessary trips being undertaken by patients who live locally. We will still provide phlebotomy services at Broomfield Hospital, St Peter’s in Maldon and St Michael’s in Braintree, and we hope that we are providing convenient locations to anyone needing a blood test”
