Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust appoints New Medical Director
Dr Ronan Fenton was appointed as the new Medical Director. Dr Fenton is a specialist consultant in anaesthetics and has worked at the hospital for 12 years.
Dr Fenton said:” I am very pleased and excited to have been appointed as the Trust’s Medical Director. The quality of patient care and their safety in my hospital is our highest priority and I am committed to building on the work of my predecessor in this role, Dr David Blainey to make sure this happens."
Malcolm Stamp, Chief Executive of Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust said: “I would first like to acknowledge the excellent work of Dr David Blainey, who has decided to step down from the post of medical director after a number of years in the job. It was always his intention to step down this year, the timing was always flexible to match the best interests of the Trust. His experience and clinical knowledge have proved invaluable to the post.
“I would also like to congratulate Dr Fenton on his appointment, he is a top clinician, working within our Anaesthetics department.
I look forward to working with him, ensuring that we focus on the delivery of excellent patient care and clinical services to the people we serve”.
Dr Fenton will take up the post with the Trust on 4 April 2011
