Help Us Name Our Wards

How would you like a hospital ward named after your village or hamlet?

All wards at Broomfield Hospital will start using a name along with a destination number and we need your help to name the seven wards that currently don’t have a name.

As part of the amendments that are being introduced to the current way finding system at Broomfield Hospital the name of each ward/inpatient area will now be included on the signs along with its destination number.  Where wards already have a name, such as Billericay or Phoenix, these will continue to be used, but there are seven wards that currently do not have a name, so staff and members of the public are being asked to help name them.

The seven wards will be named after villages and hamlets in mid Essex.  To ensure that the names are representative of the area that the trust covers, one name will be selected to represent each of the four main towns in the mid Essex area: Chelmsford, Braintree, Maldon and Witham. The three remaining choices will be decided by the next highest number of votes.

The voting process is on-line at www.meht.nhs.uk.  You can select a village/hamlet from a list, or you can enter your own nomination. You can select one from each of the four locations, or just vote for the area that I relevant to you, the choice is yours.

You have until Monday 18 April to register your vote, so don’t delay!

We already have a Stock and Billericay ward; your village could be next…!
