The Aseptic unit is made up of a team of technicians and assistants who are managed by a Technical Services manager, and is licensed by the Medicines Healthcare Regulatory Authority.
The unit provides an aseptic service for chemotherapy patients who attend the Helen Rollason Day centre, they also manufacture adult and paediatric parenteral nutrition fluids (TPN) and other provide a service to the pain team, as well as providing injections for Rheumatology patients.
The Aseptic unit also works closely with ‘HEAL’ the Oncology Clinical trials team, and provides an aseptic service and development in Clinical trials with regards to Cancer treatments.
We provide a comprehensive training programme, for both, Pre registration technicians and Pharmacists, as well as rotational Pharmacists, alongside providing NVQ level 2 training for Pharmacy assistants.
