Children’s Outpatients, sees over 6000 children and young people annually. It is run by Sister Jacqui Banks and is located in 101 on level 1 in the new building at Broomfield Hospital. Many children's clinics take place in outpatients and on some days patients maybe seen by more than one health professional.
The team run clinics in Braintree and Maldon to ease travelling for local families.
What to Expect
Before attending clinic you may find it helpful to make a list of questions you wish to ask the doctor/clinic nurse. It may be helpful for you to bring someone with you if you have detailed questions for the doctor.
On arrival please report to reception. The health professionals attempt to see all patients within 30 minutes of their appointment, however if any delays do occur staff will keep people informed.
The clinic has a waiting play area, which is well stocked with toys, some of which may not be suitable for young children. There is also breast feeding facilities and somewhere to warm bottle feeds.
Before leaving the department, please report back to the reception.
Special Clinics
The Children's Diabetes Team runs clinic sessions six times a month. Children's development clinics are also run jointly with the Children's Development Team based at Moulsham Grange in Chelmsford.
Visiting Specialists Teams from The Royal London, Royal Brompton and Great Ormond Street provide joint care clinics with Children's Services Consultant Paediatricians.
