Healthcare acquired infections at Mid Essex Hospitals 2008 – 2013

The Trust continues to be one of the best performers in the East of England for the reduction of healthcare acquired infections and this year has been no exception.

Eliminating healthcare acquired infections, such as MRSA bacteraemia and Clostridium difficile remains a top priority for the Trust.  The Trust continues to be one of the best performers in the East of England for the reduction of healthcare acquired infections, with year on year reductions.

 

MRSA bacteraemia       
  • 2008/09 - 3 against a ceiling of 12

  • 2009/10 - 2 against a ceiling of 1

  • 2010/11 - 4 against a ceiling of 12

  • 2011/12 - 0 against a ceiling of 1

  • 2012/13 - 1 against a ceiling of 1

 

Clostridium difficile       
  • 2008/09 - 26 against a ceiling of 84

  • 2009/10 - 31 against a ceiling of 84

  • 2010/11 - 27 against a ceiling of 35

  • 2011/12 - 20 against a ceiling of 22

  • 2012/13 - 14 against a ceiling of 22
