Information About You

Introduction

We record information about your condition, your medical treatment and family information if this is relevant to your care. We still record on paper but are increasingly using a number of computer systems.   We understand the sensitivity of patient information and we keep paper and electronic records secure to prevent unauthorised access,  misuse, or inappropriate transfer.

All staff and contractors know their duty of confidentiality to you and have this written in their contracts.

We aim to comply fully with the Data Protection Act 1998 and to operate within the Caldicott Principles for the safe management of patient information.
