What to bring into Hospital

Papers and Documents

• Your appointment card or appointment letter

• Proof of exemptions from payment of prescription charges

Clothing and Toiletries

• Change of nightwear

• A dressing gown and slippers

• Toiletries (flannels are discouraged due to infection control procedures)

• Tissues

• A change of indoor clothes (depends on length of stay - please mark each item with your name but be aware that the hospital cannot launder personal clothing, so please arrange for relatives or friends to take care of this)

Money and Valuables

A small amount of money for newspapers, phone calls, and at Broomfield, for the Patient Line service if you would like to use it

Medication

• Please bring any medication that you are taking

• Please make the nursing staff know of any allergies

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones must be switched off at all times on hospital premises, because the signals can interfere with sensitive equipment and so cause harm to patients.
