Macmillan Information and Support Service

We know that being diagnosed with cancer or life limiting illness can affect every aspect of a persons’ life and those around them.

The clinical team and Clinical Nurse Specialists will always be a patient’s first point of contact, however there may be times when a different professional or service can provide the support you need.

In the atrium of Broomfield Hospital you’ll find the Macmillan Information and Support Service Pod (Info Pod), which is staffed by Macmillan Information and Support Service professionals and volunteers working in partnership with Farleigh Hospice and Action for Family Carers.

The Info Pod offers a drop-in service on Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm for those who are ill or bereaved, including those who may be worried about someone who is. We provide emotional support, information, advice, signposting to other services as appropriate.

People can talk in confidence about anything they may be thinking about or need information on, from coping with their own feelings, what to say to others, including children and financial help. We have a range of leaflets and booklets’, free for people to take away (other formats are available on request).
