Chelmer Valley - Broomfield Hospital Park and Ride Shuttle Bus

Park and Ride 

  • Monday to Friday
  • Every half an hour from 7am to 7pm between the two sites
  • First bus leaves at 6.47am from Chelmer Valley Park & Ride car park
  • Last bus leaves at 18.40am from Broomfield Hospital

  • Chelmer Valley Park and Ride is located on the A130 east of Essex Regiment Way, accessed from the Pratts Farm Roundabout

By Car

Car parking is available for patients and visitors’, however it is in great demand and therefore we recommend that between the hours of 9am to 2 pm you leave in plenty of time as it may sometimes be difficult to park. Alternatively, if possible,  please consider alternative ways of getting to the Trust.

 

Car Park Charges  Car Parking Charges do apply at Broomfield Hospital as below:

 

  • Up to 15 mins             Free
  • 15 mins - 3 hours        £3.00
  • 3 – 5 hours                  £4.00
  •  5 - 24 hours                £6.00

 

 

Concessionary parking

To assist patients, relatives and carers who need to visit the hospital regularly and frequently, concessionary parking is available in certain circumstances. You may be able to park at a reduced rate if you fall within any of the following categories:

Parents of children that has been admitted

One pass per parent – tickets available from the cashiers office

£3 daily ticket / £15  seven day ticket

Visitors

Visitors of inpatients expecting to be in hospital for longer than 7 days

£15  Seven day ticket

Visitors of patients that has been an inpatient for longer than four weeks

Two passes per patients  - free of charge

Swan Initiative (families of patients on the end of life pathway)

Concessionary tickets available for two cars per patient

£3 daily ticket / £15  seven day ticket

*Concessionary tickets are non-refundable


For full information and advice please speak to the staff at the Cashiers Office near the main hospital reception desk. Office hours 08:30 am to 16:30 pm.

We operate a pay and display car park. Our car park ticket machines are cash only and do not give change. Please use the change machine by Cashiers Office located by the Main Reception in the atrium.

By Train 

The hospital has excellent, frequent public transport links to the mainline railway station, with regular rail services to stations between London Liverpool Street and Ipswich. Services are provided by Greater Anglia train services.
