Learning and Development Team – who we are

Head of Education and Learning - Catherine Lee

Cathy has overall responsibility for the Learning and Development team, all medical, non medical and generic education and contracts with higher education institutes. Her extension number is 5249 or email Catherine.lee@meht.nhs.uk

Personal Assistant to Deputy Director of HR and Head of Education & Training - Maz Bookham

Learning and Development Facilitators - Sue Poole and Cath Powis

They co-ordinate and facilitate a wide range of in-house learning including Corporate Induction, Equality and Diversity, Customer Care, Appraisal workshops, interview skills, bespoke sessions in response to identified service need. They oversee and co-ordinate the generic Foundation Programme for junior doctors. Sue and Cath are also accredited coaches. Learning and Development Facilitators - Coleen Pawsey and Sam Taylor

Their main area of expertise and focus is on pre-professional development –i.e. pay bands 1-4. This includes NVQ assessment, core skills development and any other training and development in response to service need. Learning and Development Administrators

They all man reception in the Medical Academic Unit during working hours and have specific responsibilities:

Nicky Riley and Gill Slater

They are responsible for non medical education - including booking participants onto in-house courses, bookings for the training rooms in West Wing 2, reporting on attendance and non-attendance of courses. Denise Hearn

Denise is responsible for the administration of the Foundation Programme for junior doctors. She can be contacted on extension 5259 or email denise.hearn@meht.nhs.uk

Jacqui Whybrow

Jacqui is responsible for the administration of the GPVTS scheme and core medical training. She can be contacted on extension 4411 or email jacqui.whybrow@meht.nhs.uk

Joy Ward

Joy is responsible for administration for the dental and medical students. She can be contacted on extension4731 or email joy.ward@meht.nhs.uk

Sylvia Ranson
