Mid Essex Showcasing Healthcare Event a Huge Success

“Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust in partnership with the Centre Supporting Voluntary Action was pleased to host the prestigious Mid Essex Showcasing Healthcare Event on September 11th 2014.  The Mayor and Mayoress opened the event and toured all of the exhibits to personally learn of the support and care the varied organisations and volunteers provide across Essex every day.  Over 44 organisations, voluntary and not for profit organisations, committed to healthcare for the people of Essex met with patients, public and hospital staff to share the outstanding work they provide.  Loraine Jarvis, CEO at the Centre Supporting Voluntary Action stated, “Working with Broomfield Hospital has offered up a unique opportunity to showcase dozens of charities that work  to support the health and wellbeing of local people”

During the day a huge range of services were showcased, including Helping Hands Essex, Chelmsford Counselling Organisation, Renew Counselling, Essex Sight, Wilderness Foundation, British Lung Foundation Breathe Easy, Braintree & District and Chelmsford Crossroads Care, Epilepsy Action, Mid Essex Crohns and Colitis UK, Diabetes UK, Mid Essex Mind, The Stroke Club for Mid & Central Essex, Open Road, Chelmsford Talking Newspaper, Lighthouse Family Trust, Action for Family Carers, Arthritis Care, REMAP Essex Central, Maldon & Active Support team (MAST), Chelmsford Community Transport, Headway Essex, Dengie Project Trust, MS Society, Charity Action for Relief of Multiple Sclerosis (CHARMS), Autism Anglia, Age UK Essex, Hearing Help Essex, Rainbow Trust Children’s Society, Essex Young people’s Drug & Alcohol Service (EYDPAS), Support4Sight, Mid Essex Hospital Charity and Friends, Dementia Adventure, Essex Connects Community Directory Online, Volunteer Centres,  The J’s Hospice, Tickers, Families in Focus, InterAct, Essex Cares, Health watch Essex, the Care Quality Commission and Patient Council.

Sheila Salmon, Chair of Mid Essex Hospitals stated:
