Chaplaincy training

Nurse and HCA induction - spiritual care

This one hour session is provided to every newly appointed nurse or HCA in the Trust as part of their induction and covers the team based approach for spiritual care along with guidance on religious care and end of life care.

Nurse preceptorship

This one hour session is given to those nurses who have signed up for this career development module.  The focus is currently to support nurses in their spiritual care of patients at the end of life.

End of life care day

The chaplaincy team provides support to the palliative care team’s annual training day with a focus on end of life care spiritual issues, ethical and practical support discussions. 

Breaking bad news

This half day session is provided in partnership with the palliative care team, supporting FY1 and FY2 Doctors in their care of patients being given ‘bad news’.

ARU Masters for AHPs module

This half day module on Spiritual Care provides an introduction for those working in a variety of settings in healthcare.
