Making a Donation

Many patients, friends or relatives want to make a donation to the Trust as a way for saying thank you. As a result of donations the Trust has been able to provide an exciting range of equipment, facilities and improvements for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff.

A gift to the hospital, clinic or particular ward enables staff to use these funds where the need is greatest.  Funds received are carefully and sensitively applied for many different purposes and could be used to provide facilities for additional amenities for patients and staff, or purchase a specific item of medical or scientific equipment.

Also see our Current Appeals.

The Trust's charity was set up in 1991 and this has gone from strength to strength. An enormous amount of support is given to the Trust by organisations, individuals, clubs, societies, staff and patients.

At the Hospital

You can hand your donation the ward or department sister, or direct to the Cashiers Office at the reception desk.

An official receipt will always be received.

Legacies

Caring is what you do all your life and a Will means you can continue to “care” after your death. To learn more about legacy giving see “The Will to Give” leaflet.

Direct Debit and Payroll Giving

It’s so easy to make a gift to the hospital charity and paying by direct debit or payroll giving helps us to plan ahead, so we can be confident your financial support will be there for us in the months and years to come – contact us direct for further details.

Gift Aid – Did You Know?

The Government makes all charity donations tax-free.  This means, as a UK taxpayer, every £100 you donate to a charity under the Gift Aid Scheme (click here for a Gift Aid form) lets the charity, in addition, claim £28.21 back from the Inland Revenue.  Please remember to fill in the Gift Aid section on the Donation Leaflet.

Donations in Kind

We are always delighted to receive gifts for all our patients, but sometimes we can't accept what you send us due to concerns about infection, and restrictive storage space.  To help you, we've compiled a list of what we love to receive and what we can't use, check out our Donations in Kind page.

Online donations:

Credit or debit card donations can be made online via our partners at Justgiving.com
